Never Mix Water to Acid

I've got an app in for an apartment. I'm really hoping that it all works out. I want to be done with this whole process...

I'm currently in the process of revampin' the Wake Up Seattle blog. I set up a few more networking tools for it. There is now a Twitter account and a Flickr group. I've also got some emails out for various posts I want to do in the near future. I'm actually pretty pleased with the whole thing at the moment. However, I think I'm going to shut down the Indoor Sprout as I haven't posted on it in a while and don't really feel like posting anything. I'll still leave it up there, just in case I change my mind...

Speaking of upcoming blog post. I think that this weekend I'm going to check out the guerrilla art installation that showed up at Gas Works. I love the idea of guerrilla art. Anyone interested in going should hit me up!...

I thought about doing a large tribute to Ted Kennedy, but I haven't yet. I still might. His passing is a great loss for this country as a whole. RIP Ted...

Tunnel Talk

I'm not going to go off about the Tunnel here. But I think that you all should know that I'm displeased with the tunnel idea. Check out Wake Up Seattle...

A new day dawns

So I've survived the weekends birthday events. It was good all-in-all. I think that I need to give a special shout out to P Matty for the killer dinner at Anthony's. I'd also like to thank everyone for showing up at the GLC. I had a great time...

Outdoor gardening in full effect. I was able to get the garden bed east of the brewery all cleaned out this weekend. All the hoe'n gave me a blister, which is irritating more than anything. But I was also able to plant the cherry tree. I also bought a couple magnolia trees that I need to find a good spot for. I think that they will bring me great happiness...

On the indoor front I was also pretty productive. I made the first attempt at octochili. I haven't tried it yet, because my stomach was not prepared for chili yesterday, but I have a ton of it at home and I'm hoping it's delicious. The little bit that I tried was good, so I'm hopeful. I also got the laundry room cleaned up. Now I just need to attack the rest of the house systematically to make sure it's all ready for the cook off. There are a lot of things I need to do and I'm not sure what all they are yet...

I have the best sister ever. She got up before the birds to make sure we'd capture sunrise pics for my wakeupseattle header. I included my favorite pic at the bottom...

I've been thinking about starting a new blog. I can hear you all now, "another one?!" Yes another one. I have been trying to figure out what to do with this old project that I did a few years ago. Elephant Skin aka Novel aka Dreams / Nightmares. I'm not really sure what to do with it, but I feel that I should do something with it so I may turn it into a blog. Could be interesting...

Happy Birthday Me!!!

I'm another year older today. Never have really understood the true importance of birthdays. I figure I'm only a day older than yesterday. But I never pass on an oppurtunity for a party. So anyone out there looking to have a few drinks tonight should hit up the Georgetown Liquor Co around 9 o'clock. Should be good. As for right now it's 6am and I on my way to Alki to get some sunrise pics for the wakeupseattle blog.

We'll wrap this one up with a classic pic of young me with my awesome sister (who is driving me to Alki, can you believe she got up this early just for me!?).

I don't really like today

It's not the rain. Or the grey. Or work. I'm not sure what it is...

I spent the morning angry blogging. I encourage you all to get involved...

I forgot to do the old school lunch today. Maybe I'll have to do an old school afternoon snack. I really want to hear some NWA...

This scene is done...

Okay so after I posted this I got on Youtube and this brought me some happiness so I thought I'd share it with you:

Another day

Work is so extremely boring today I might cut off my left pinky just to liven things up a bit. But then I wouldn't be able to use the A, Q, or Z on my keyboard. I might also have trouble capitalizing things...

So I'm not too pleased with the viaduct decision. I never like the tunnel idea. But for those of you who follow my "Wake Up Seattle" blog already know this. And those of you who aren't following, you should...

I guess that's really all I have to say today. Oh wait! So I was doing a little work on the indoor garden last night to find that I've got mushrooms growing. So far I don't think it's a bad thing, probably water them a little less. But as I told a friend of mine, I'd much rather they spontaneously grow bacon...

Back to the basics

So now that I have my other blog to vent all of my political angers and joys, I figure it's time to get back to the basic with Desomnia...

...Ozzie's is a wretched, wretched place. I attended a karaoke benefit for Children's Hospital on Friday night. A friend of mine was helping to organize it. All in all it was a great event, unless you left the upper room. Upon leaving the area that had been reserved for the benefit it was a less than desirable scene. Every square inch of the place was packed with people. In an effort to get outside for some air I had to fight through hordes of people all pushing and stumbling in various directions. And to top it all off, the bar tender was incompetent. By the time 11:30 rolled I just had to leave. Downed my long island in 2 minutes flat and hit the streets, only to be left waiting for an hour and fifteen minutes by the 7. Oh the 7...

...I'm really craving some Buck Hunter. I think that I might need to find an old version to buy...

...Oh snap, time for lunch. Maybe I'll get back to this...

New places...

So after the last post I realized that I need a different outlet for such posts as they seem to becoming more regular. I encourage you all to check out my new blog, Wake Up Seattle! Hopefully this new blog will allow me to get Desomnia in Drull back into focus and we can get back to the basics.

Dear Seattlites, Wake Up!

I've been a Seattle-area resident all my life and have spent the last 10 years living within the city limits and there is one thing that continually disappoints me about Seattlites - We all look the other way. Now I'm probably just as much to blame here as everyone else, but I think it's time for us all to turn over a new leaf.
I was recently told a story about a friend of my sisters. She was just sitting on the bus minding her own business when someone came and stole the ipod out of her hand and ran off the bus. She then had to grab all of her other belongings and take chase, eventually losing sight of him and failing to recover her ipod. My question here is why didn't anyone else try to stop this guy?
Now I can understand that whole attitude that "it's none of my business and don't want to get involoved". It's so much easier that way. However it's not the right way. We need to be more attentive to what is going on around us and when we see injustice we need to step up and try to make a difference, because next time we might be the victim.
So Seattle I say wake up and start caring a little more. The only way that things like this are going to change is if we start making them change. Each and everyone of you has the power to make a difference, now do it.
